Homemade Almond Milk

Homemade Almond Milk

Servings 1 Liter

Ingredients

  • 200 g raw Almonds
  • 1 l water

Instructions

  1. [Optional] Toast the almonds in a medium pan over medium heat, stirring often. Remove from the heat when they release a nutty scent.

  2. Put the almonds in small bowl and cover with water. Soak for 8 hours or overnight.

  3. Drain and rinse the almonds under running water.

  4. [Optional] Peel the almonds - it will be super easy after soaking - for a whiter milk.

  5. Blend the almonds with the water.

  6. Lay a thin cloth (see notes) over a medium bowl and pour in the almond mixture. Strain and press to release the almond milk.

  7. Transfer the almond milk in a glass bottle and refrigerate. It lasts 2 to 3 days.

Notes

  • Use a thin cloth made of any natural, not-dyed fabric (linen, cotton, bamboo). Wash the cloth with water and bicarbonate before using it, no soap.
